About Me
My favourite subjects are animals, probably derived from my love
of them. In the Fur + Feather Collection the characters were inspired
by the natural humour that animals possess and the two-way relationship
we have with them. I have tried not to anthropomorphise these characters
too much to avoid losing the unique qualities of the subjects.
Art has always been part of my life, before, during and after my
academic years. I obtained a degree in Spatial Design in 1996 and
have been developing my painting technique ever since. To obtain
the level of fine detail I require I use gouache paint. It lends
itself well to the creation of the shape and form of natural subjects
and it also lifts off successfully. I find this latter process equally
as important as applying layers.
I am currently working on my next range of cards, which is great
